Data Archiving

Retain critical data with data archiving

Data Archiving

Provide customers with the ability to keep their data as long as they need to keep it.  Your customers have specific Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) that usually fit within a 30-day window. But those customers that need specific data sets such as HR records, or data that falls under compliance mandates or public records searches, have the option of archiving selected critical data for longer durations - easily and securely.

Archiving Features

Comprehensive platform support

No other backup product provides as much OS and platform coverage as MAX Backup. With support for Windows, Windows Server, Unix, Mac OSX, VMware, and Hyper-V, MAX Backup has your entire network covered along with application data from Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Exchange and SharePoint.

Granular data selection

Archives can include a single file or folder, an application and its data, or an entire server or client Operating System (OS). MAX Backup intelligently selects, backs up and archives the data required to protect exactly what needs to be protected.

Backup or archive

Keeping data beyond the default retention period is a simple matter of selecting the backup data type to be archived and the desired custom retention period.

‘Always secure’ archives

Like your backups, archived data is secured both in transmission and at rest using industry standard private key encryption that utilizes AES 128-bit, AES 256-bit or 448-bit Blowfish. Only the customer has the key to decrypt their archives, helping them adhere to compliance standards and reassuring them of absolute privacy around their data.

World-class cloud storage

Archived data is stored in one of MAX Backup’s seven secure data centers – centers that have 24/7 physical security, are either SSAE compliant or ISO certified and provide a 99.999% uptime guarantee.

Hybrid-cloud archiving

Archives are saved both to the cloud and to local storage (if that’s what you need), for redundancy and immediate availability. Should an archive be needed, and the Internet is down, recovery can be implemented quickly and seamlessly from local storage.

Centralized monitoring and reporting

Manage your backups centrally from the cloud where you can both monitor and be alerted to the state of your backups, storage use, data backed up, and the success/failure of each job.
